Semester Milk and Lunch Prices
If you want to provide semester milk for your student please send payment by the first week of January 2018. You can send this in any time before January 2018, but at least by January 5th, 2018. Thank you for your consideration.
PS is $35 per semester per child and K-4th Gr. Is $40 per semester per child.
Checks can be made out to South Winneshiek.
School lunch prices are on the rise.
Each year we evaluate what the lunch price increase should be based on several factors. Food prices, production costs and state requirements.
Although we raised our prices by a nickel this past year as well as in the years before, we, according to state regulations, did not increase our weighted average price enough. So with much regret, we must increase them at the beginning of January 2018 to complete the 2017-2018 school year.
This is not what we want to do, but with the state requirement, unfortunately we must comply to continue to receive state reimbursement.
Thank you for your understanding.
Prices will go up January 3rd at the start of the 2nd semester.
Price increases area as follows. PK-5 $2.30, 6-8 $2.40 and HS $2.50 per lunch.
Lunch prices are the only meal that will increase, breakfast prices will not go up at this time.

Week of the Young Child
This past week was Week of the Young Child. In the Early Childhood classroom, we have been learning about community helpers. Our students have enjoyed learning about doctors, vets, construction workers, farmers, chefs, postal workers, and police officers. We will continue to learn about more jobs in our community for the rest of the school year.
