**The Middle School performance of ‘Backstage’ is still on for tonight (Friday), starting at 7pm.
Due to the impending weather for Sunday, the Sunday performance has been canceled. Also, Saturday’s show has been moved up to 2pm.
This year’s middle school play is “Backstage” by Pat Cook. It is being produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama, Inc., Englewood, Colorado. This show draws back the curtain to let audiences see what’s happening backstage. Rather than seeing a play on the main stage, this play shows the drama the audience never sees. “Backstage” is a show highlighting relationships, ulterior motives and the dynamics of producing and acting in a play.
The production runs March 13-14, 2026. Friday’s performance is at 7 PM, and Saturday’s is at 2 PM. Tickets are $5, with free admission for children not yet in school. Purchase tickets before each performance at the South Winneshiek High School auditorium in Calmar, Iowa.
