Board of Education Special Meeting Minutes
July 24, 2018
The July 24, 2018 Special Board meeting of the South Winneshiek Community School District Board of Education was called to order at 6:04 by board member Don Schroeder.
Roll Call: Present: Don Schroeder; Present by phone: Wendy Mihm-Herold, Jenny Johnson and Patricia Schissel. Absent: Bob Busch
Moved by Mihm-Herold and seconded by Johnson to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Schroeder received visitors.
New Business:
- Moved by Johnson and seconded by Schissel to approve requesting Glenna Munuswamy to obtain a masters in library science degree with the cost to be reimbursed by the district. Motion carried unanimously. The district had asked Mrs. Munuswamy to obtain this degree to meet the district needs; under this circumstance they felt it was necessary to pay for the courses.
- Moved by Mihm-Herold and seconded by Schissel to approve the Ossian bus barn site drainage work to be completed by Reilly Construction for $4500. Motion carried unanimously.
- Moved by Mihm-Herold to purchase one lunch table for $1775 from Premier F&E. Motion died for lack of second.
Johnson left the meeting at 6:20.
Announcements: Next regular meeting will be August 13, 2018 at the Elementary Middle School at 6:00pm.
Moved by Mihm-Herold and seconded by Schissel to adjourn at 6:34 pm. Motion carried.
