South Winneshiek Community School District
Board of Education Special Meeting
October 5, 2020 @ 5:15 P.M.
The South Winneshiek Community School District Board of Education held a special meeting on October 5, 2020 in the Boardroom in Calmar. The meeting was called to order by board president Wendy Mihm-Herold at 5:15 pm.
After the Pledge of Allegiance was recited, roll call took place; Present: Patricia Schissel, Corey Meyer, Don Schroeder, Wendy Mihm-Herold and Ron Hemesath. Absent: None.
Moved by Schroeder and seconded by Meyer to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Old Business:
Moved by Hemesath and seconded by Meyer to approve an early retirement package offered for this year only:
Certified staff: age 55 and 20 years of service by June 30, 2021.
A package of $65,000 into an HRA and $10,000 into the TSA – Notice to be given to the district by December 15 at 4:00 pm.
Classified Staff who perform full-time duties must be age 55 and 20 years of service by June 30, 2021
A package of $30,000 into an HRA and $10,000 into the TSA – Notice to be given to the district
By December 15 at 4:00 pm. Motion carried unanimously.
New Business:
Moved by Schissel and seconded by Schroeder to approve the Return 2 Learn plan to continue the current hybrid schedules at the elementary/middle school and high school through the first semester, December 18, 2020. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Hemesath and seconded by Schroeder to adjourn at 5:57 pm. Motion carried unanimously.
The next regular meeting will be October 12, 2020 at 4:30 in the Boardroom in Calmar.
