The South Winneshiek CSD Board of Education held their regular board meeting on September 12, 2022, in the music room in Ossian. The meeting was called to order by board president Wendy Mihm-Herold at 5:33 pm.
After the Pledge of Allegiance was recited, roll call took place: Present: Craig Neuzil, Don Schroeder, Patricia Schissel, Ron Hemesath and Wendy Mihm-Herold. Absent: None.
Moved by Neuzil and seconded by Schroeder to approve the agenda as presented.
Review and discussion about previous minutes, bills, appointments, resignations, open enrollments and donations took place. Moved by Schroeder and seconded by Hemesath to approve the consent items which included: Appointments: Hannah Schmitt – Volunteer cheer coach; Steve Steinberg, paraprofessional $11.00. Ayes: Schroeder, Hemesath, Neuzil and Mihm-Herold. Nays: Schissel. Motion carried.
Mihm-Herold welcomed visitors.
Spotlight on Education: Amy Pope, director of special education, introduced herself and reviewed the services she was bringing to South Winneshiek. She will be working closely with the special education instructors and administration.

New Business:
- Moved by Schissel and seconded by Hemesath to approve the LAU and TAG plans as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
- Moved by Neuzil and seconded by Schroeder to approve out of state trips: National FFA Convention – Indianapolis; National Barrow Show – Austin MN; Mabel Canton Livestock Judging – Prosper MN; Eagle Bluff Trip – Lanesboro MN. Motion carried unanimously.
Administrative reports were provided by Mr. Halverson, Mr. Williams, Ms. Pope and Mr. Einck.
Moved by Neuzil and seconded by Schroeder to adjourn at 6:19 pm. Motion carried unanimously.
The next regular meeting will be held October 10, 2022 at 5:30 pm in the boardroom in Calmar.
